This web application use the NCBI taxonomy database which is not an authoritative source for nomenclature or classification - please consult the relevant scientific literature for the most reliable information. Authors are strongly invited to cite this tool if used for publication.

Tree of Life Designer is subject to improvements, but some bugs are known:

Homo sapiens is not recognized as a species, if you encounter problems with it use Human instead;
Some taxa exist in different part of the tree of life. Echinacea for instance could refer to Echinodermata (animal) or Asteraceae (vegetal). Such taxa are not recognized by this application.
